REPORT FROM ASKARI OF HIS FIRST TWO WEEKS AT SUSS*X 2 STATE PRISON. I was moved from A*gusta Correctional Center to S*ssex 2 State Prison on March 2, 2018 after being framed by the institutions intelligence officers under direct orders of Administrators who saw me as either a threat or a nuisance- or shit maybe even both. Nevertheless, since I've arrived here all I've seen is oppression. The staff here is easily the most unprofessional in the state. In fact when I was being given my intake medical screening the nurse expressed to me that the medical department here was, quote, "Terrible." Consequently, this is the most unorganized prison in the state. The day before I arrived a man died of a heart attack in the housing unit next to me that could have been prevented if the response time was better. But that's nothing, it's well known all over the prison among the prisoners that 9 prisoners have died since October 2017- one of which was murdered while staff ignored his cry for help- and 18 have died since 2016. I asked a female staff about it on my second day here, I said," what's up with all of the deaths?" Her response was, quote, "it's all these crooked ass cops." Needless to say to hear a C/O be so candid stumped me. But the prison is so out of order they can't even keep up the veneer of respectability & authority right now. And so I've been wondering how a prison can be the most understaffed in the state, where prisoners dying at an unprecedented rate, and operations are completely disorganized and the captain of the ship is not only allowed to remain but while implementing the most repressive policies in the state??? My cell has been below freezing EVERY NIGHT since I've been here (shit they have the f#*kin' air on during a Nor Easter), I don't have any lockers or boxes to store my property in, and the intercom in my cell doesn't work. All of these are violations of there own policies- And in the case of the heat supply a violation of the law. I wrote an emergency grievance and was told that it's not an emergency. I then wrote a complaint and I'm still waiting for a response, although I've yet to receive a receipt from the Ombudsman office acknowledging that it's been received. That was due 6 days ago. And so I wouldn't be surprised if that complaint turns up missing. Then on March 12th I went to the Law Library where there's literally no typewriters or computers. When I asked the law library supervisor how I'm suppose to draft legal pleadings I was told I have to write them. That was so absurd I didn't even take her serious until she looked at me seriously and said, "I'm serious!" So of course I asked why were the typewriters taken? And she said because prisoners abused their privileges. I then replied and said, "I didn't abuse 'my' privileges." Her response was, "Yeah I know but it was like that when I got here." There are so many issues here that I would have to write a pamphlet for you to learn it all. Just know that I am already working to organize brothers around nonviolent action. But there "MUST" be action! Only we can check this beast. But you all have to remember that the State spent over One Hundred Million Dollars ($100 mill.) on this prison. That's taxpayer dollars to supposedly keep the public safe while preparing criminals for citizenship. It appears that the investment made with income from YOUR labor was poorly spent. Next time you get your check and you see what expenditure for state taxes taken out of your gross income just think about Suss*x 2 because you bought this! #I was sent here to be NEUTRALIZED! #Free Askari
