Urgent medical advocacy
Anthony Stewart has end-stage renal disease and requires safe, effective dialysis. PRC continues to document concerns about his treatment and demand a humane, medically appropriate response from correctional leadership.
His case represents a larger question: whether incarcerated people with serious illnesses will receive the standard of care, continuity of treatment, and urgent intervention their conditions require.
Fair and transparent parole hearing
Askari entered prison at 18 and has served nearly three decades. He is a Fishback prisoner—sentenced by a jury during the period when Virginia juries were not told that parole had been abolished.
PRC is calling for a fair, transparent, and meaningful parole hearing that considers his youth at sentencing, decades of growth, service to others, institutional record, and readiness to return to the community.
