Why illumination?
Bringing light to rules that govern life behind the walls.
Prison policies, grievance procedures, disciplinary rules, medical processes, sentencing laws, and parole practices are often difficult to find and harder to understand. That information gap leaves people vulnerable.
The Illumination Project transforms complex information into plain-language handbooks, newsletters, fact sheets, workshops, and community education. Our goal is to help people recognize an issue, preserve a record, follow the proper process, and advocate more effectively.
